About Us

Julie

Born in Arizona and raised around the world, Julie is the main farmer on this land and the expert chicken lady on the farm. Self-taught she has become a well of knowledge on all things berb, and continues to expand in all things homestead.

Tom

Born in Ohio Tom ran away to the Army for thirteen years. On a whim, he moved his family back to Ohio after an honorable discharge to go back to school for computer programming. Fast-forward to today, Tom is the Director of Information Technology at a small chemical manufacture by day and a wanna-be farmer by night. Both sides of his family at one time owned farms and he raised sheep for 4-H as a kid, however he has no formal or informal training on anything farm related. YouTube, Books, and Google are his main source of information, but he does have family in the local areas to bounce questions off. From "How do I chop down a tree?" to "Why won't this Tractor start?" the adventure awaits.

Cadence

Born in Arizona, raised as a military brat, Cadence is the up and coming bird wrangler. Not scared of any task, this teenager is the only "farm hand" the farm has and steps up to any task. She currently holds the title of Sammy Tammer.

This is our happy place, Welcome!

Almost Functional Farm

Almost Functional Farms is a dream of people who believe in two things above all others. One: The ability to sustain yourself is something everyone should know. Two: That a community is required for absolute happiness. What does that mean? Simply stated, it takes a village to raise a child and you should be self sustainable with that community. We understand the appeal of the city, but we offer the appeal of the country. We are the ability to get your hands in the dirt and make a difference, or to just take a minute and relax. Here at the farm we always have projects that need completed, we also offer the ability to sit back and listen to what nature is telling you. We at Almost Functional Farms hope you visit and see what is going down! Any questions, ask an admin!
